CNN —To file under the fantasy music collaborations category, Billy Joel has been toying with the idea of joining forces with some contemporary music greats. “I thought about putting together a band,” Joel retorted. “Me, Don Henley and Sting, and maybe John Mayer on guitar.”That roster would surely be a worthy update to the Wilburys, which was a supergroup team-up between the late Tom Petty, Roy Orbison and George Harrison, along with Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan. Joel also said he talks to Paul McCartney “a lot,” but added that he doesn’t “have the nerve” to ask the former Beatle to band up. Joel humored Stern while he continued to fantasize about who would be in the supergroup, and said, “Ringo would be good.

Mojo Nixon, the rabble-rousing psychobilly musician and radio host who shot to fame with his satirical 1987 hit “Elvis Is Everywhere,” died on Wednesday aboard a country music cruise that he was co-hosting. His death was confirmed by Matt Eskey, the director of a 2020 documentary film about Mr. Nixon. He said that Mr. Nixon had a “cardiac event” while he was asleep as the Outlaw Country Cruise was docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico. A statement posted by the film’s official Facebook page said that Mr. Nixon had died “after a blazing show, a raging night, closing the bar, taking no prisoners.”Mr. Nixon was best known for his celebrity spoofs, like “Don Henley Must Die” and “Debbie Gibson Is Pregnant With My Two-Headed Love Child,” and for satirical tirades like “I Hate Banks” and “Destroy All Lawyers.” “All of it was performed in maximum overdrive on a bed of rockabilly, blues, and R&B, which earned Nixon some friends in the roots rock community but had enough punk attitude — in its own bizarre way — to make him a college radio staple during his heyday,” the All Music Guide wrote.

Bradley broke out of a five-way tie with a 20-foot birdie putt on 15th hole. Yuan made his mistake on the par-3 17th, missing the green left and missing a 4-foot par putt to fall out of the lead. THE BURLY MEN of Hollywood suit up for red carpets, but when going about their daily lives, many reach for a henley. You know, the collarless shirt that has a handful of buttons down its front and evokes old-fashioned underwear. In recent years Idris Elba, Brad Pitt and all the Chrises (Evans, Hemsworth, Pine and Pratt) have sported this garment, unbuttoned to achieve varying degrees of pectoral exposure. But plenty of mortals like it too. “The henley has a classic, masculine vibe,” said Patrick Burch, founder of Phoenix menswear store Cave & Post Trading Co., adding that fitted ones are a staple for “rugged, in-shape dudes.” According to Harry Hill, 29, a New York writer, podcaster and henley evangelist, a waffle-knit style ranks among the sexiest items a man can wear.

The population of the super wealthy, or those worth $100 million or more, doubled over the past 20 years as asset prices soared around the world, according to a new report. The rise of tech wealth, especially in the U.S., has also helped fueled the growth in the super-wealthy. The number of billionaires in the world has skyrocketed from under 500 in 2003 to more than 2,600 today, according to Forbes and other wealth-tracking firms. "The value of money has declined, so in dollar terms, you would expect more centi-millionaires," said Andrew Amoils, head of research at New World Wealth. The U.S. is still the dominant capital of entrepreneurship and centi-millionaires, with 38% of the global population of people worth $100 million or more, according to the report.

July 27 (Reuters) - Randy Meisner, a co-founder of the Eagles who sang lead on the 1975 hit "Take It to the Limit," died on Wednesday of complications from lung disease, the band said on its website on Thursday. "The whole thing started to end when we started taking separate limos," Meisner told Rolling Stone magazine. "I liked to be out of the spotlight," Meisner said, according to Rolling Stone. Years later, Meisner said he asked to sit in with the band for a show in Los Angeles but was denied, he told Rolling Stone in 2008. Before the Eagles, he placed bass for Poco, and was also bassist and vocalist with Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band.

Mr. Meisner, the band’s original bass player, helped form the Eagles in 1971 along with Glenn Frey, Don Henley and Bernie Leadon.
